Collection: Ali Gillani

Ali Gillani is a Lahore-based contemporary artist, born in 1996, working within the classical South Asian miniature tradition. He holds a BFA with Honours in Miniature Painting from the National College of Arts, Lahore.

Using gold, archival inks, and gouache on wasli, his practice turns miniature painting into a precise space of confrontation. Ali explores the tension between Nafs and Ruh, reflecting on ego, spirit, power, corruption, disloyalty, and moral choice. Demons, geometric divisions, and cosmic architectures become symbolic forces through which he questions what the inner self endures under contemporary political and spiritual pressure.

His work has been shown internationally, including Sabrina Amrani Gallery, Dubai Art Fair, and Abu Dhabi Art Fair, and is held in the collections of State Bank Museum and Manchester Museum.
