"Untitled" by Shamsuddin Tanwri

Shamsuddin Tanwri is a Lahore-based visual artist, born in Mian Sahib, District Shikarpur, Sindh, in 1986. He completed his BFA with Honours in Miniature Painting from the National College of Arts, Lahore, in 2010.

His practice is rooted in drawing, miniature discipline, memory, and the quiet intensity of detailed observation. Working primarily with graphite on Arches paper, and earlier with gouache on wasli and Arches paper, Shamsuddin creates works that carry the refinement of traditional miniature painting while engaging contemporary visual concerns.

In 2009, he was selected for an exchange program at École des Beaux-Arts, Paris, and has exhibited in Pakistan and internationally.

For collectors, Shamsuddin Tanwri’s work offers technical precision, miniature refinement, and a sensitive contemporary approach to drawing.
