Collection: Jamil Baloch

I am a visual artist from Noshki, Balochistan, working across sculpture, painting, and multiple media. I graduated from the National College of Arts, Lahore, in 1997, where I currently serve as a faculty member.

My practice reflects global political and social realities while also engaging with the aesthetic power of art itself. Rooted in the cultural landscape of Balochistan, my work draws from nature, regional histories, and symbolic forms to examine power, survival, violence, and the social barriers that shape human experience.

Working across diverse materials and mediums, I do not limit my practice to a single form or theme. I often bring together traditional cultural references with contemporary expression, allowing my work to speak about both inherited memory and present realities.

I have participated in national and international exhibitions, residencies, biennales, and art fairs across Pakistan, the USA, Sri Lanka, Germany, Dubai, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, and beyond. My work has received major recognition, including the Presidential Award Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Pride of Performance, the Sadequain Award, and several national and international art prizes.
