Collection: Komal Shahid Khan

Komal Shahid Khan is an Islamabad-based visual artist and educator whose practice expands the language of contemporary miniature painting. She graduated from the University of Punjab, Lahore, in 2012, and completed her MFA from Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, with distinction and a Gold Medal in Miniature Painting.

Rooted in the classical Indo-Persian miniature tradition, her work uses ornament, surreal symbolism, and narrative tension to examine mockery, human puppetry, desire, and deception. In The Regal Deception, Komal recontextualizes miniature elements into unsettling contemporary dramas where heightened decorative surfaces reveal the illusions of power and the theatre of human behaviour.

She has exhibited in Pakistan and internationally, served as Visiting Artist at Harvard’s South Asia Institute, and founded Studio.K.
