Collection: Mariya Shaikh

Mariya Shaikh is a Sindh-based visual artist, researcher, and educator whose interdisciplinary practice moves across abstraction, drawing, painting, and textile-informed processes. She holds a Bachelor of Design from the University of Sindh and an MA/MPhil in Art Education from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore.

Rooted in Sindh’s craft heritage, her practice explores memory, spirituality, cultural identity, materiality, and belonging through layering, repetition, gesture, and transformation. Her abstraction reflects the relationship between the visible and invisible, the remembered and imagined, allowing material surfaces to become carriers of meaning.

Mariya has presented work internationally and has been selected for the Virginia Center for Creative Arts Residency 2025, Art South Asia Project 2025–26, Textile Junction UK 2026, and the XVI Florence Biennale 2027.

For collectors, Mariya Shaikh’s work offers spiritual depth, refined material intelligence, and contemporary cultural resonance.
