"Hidden Face" by Samra Cheema

Samra Cheema is a Lahore-based visual artist and art trainer, originally from Gujranwala, Pakistan. She graduated from Punjab University College of Art & Design in 2013 and later received distinction in MFA Visual Art in 2017.

Working primarily in oil paint, her practice is rooted in nature, emotion, and the physical experience of colour. Rather than relying only on brushes, Samra often paints directly with tubes, dry paint, and her fingers, building textured surfaces guided by instinct, feeling, and movement.

Her work reflects imagination, resilience, and the expressive force of the soul, often drawing inspiration from natural forms such as coral reefs and the sea.
