Shahla Rafi is a Pakistani landscape painter whose work is shaped by an intimate and enduring relationship with nature. Although she did not attend art school, she studied History of Art during her Bachelor’s degree and found deep inspiration in her uncle, Khalid Iqbal, one of Pakistan’s most important landscape painters.

Her practice begins with observation, but moves beyond direct representation. Through changing light, colour, atmosphere, and the quiet wonder of the natural world, Shahla searches for inner harmony, beauty, and emotional intensity on the canvas.

Her landscapes carry the tension between perception and aspiration, capturing not only what is seen, but what is felt in the act of looking.
