"An Unpredictable Story" by Maria Danyal

Maria Danyal is a Lahore-based visual artist, born in 1981. She holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Punjab University College of Art & Design and has developed a painting practice shaped by biodiversity, spirituality, observation, and emotional experience.

Working across oil, watercolour, and varied painterly techniques, her practice reflects a deep connection with nature, the Divine, and the changing moods of inner life. Maria’s diverse colour palette and shifting treatment of surface reveal how each painting emerges from a different emotional state and moment of reflection.

Alongside her studio practice, she has worked as an art and creative skills instructor, supporting neurodevelopmentally and physically challenged children and adults.
