"Le Chal" by Sohni Farrukh

Sohni Farrukh is an Islamabad-based self-taught miniature artist, born in 1990. After completing formal law education in the United Kingdom and practicing as a lawyer, she returned to her lifelong passion for art. She deepened her engagement with traditional miniature techniques through a course with Komal Shahid Khan, grounding her practice in the Indo-Persian miniature tradition while developing a personal language.

Her work explores female empowerment, cultural heritage, and reimagined historical narratives through intricate detail, luminous colour, and quiet emotional strength. Drawing inspiration from Chinese, Persian, and Mughal miniature styles, she balances maximalist richness with minimalist restraint, creating compositions rooted in tradition yet contemporary in spirit.

Since 2020, Sohni has exhibited with PK Art Collective, Artescape Gallery, 8B2 by Fatima Hamid, Artsoch Gallery, and The Reservoir.
