Hina Tabassum
Hina Tabassum is a Karachi-based multidisciplinary artist and educator, trained in Miniature Painting at the Karachi School of Art. Working across painting and sculpture, with a particular focus on metal and rusting techniques, her practice explores childhood, memory and the ways surrounding environments shape a child’s inner world.
Tabassum draws upon familiar objects, toys and symbols associated with childhood to examine innocence, curiosity and imagination. Through simplified forms and material experimentation, ordinary objects become carriers of emotional and psychological meaning.
Her work reflects on the instinctive ability of children to discover wonder in the everyday. By revisiting these moments through an adult perspective, Tabassum invites viewers to reconnect with a sense of fascination that often fades with time, preserving childhood not simply as memory, but as a way of seeing.
